The exhibition “Del Modernisme a les Avantguardes “(From Modernism to Vanguards). Drawings of the Mapfre collections, will open on March 28 and can be seen until June 30.

From Modernism to the Vanguards. Drawings of the Mapfre Foundation collection presents a careful selection of 47 drawings from the Mapfre collections and offers a vision of the international artistic panorama of the late nineteenth century and the first half of the twentieth, both in Catalonia and Spain and in other points of the continent.

It is the first time that this collection arrives in Catalonia. Previously, the Picasso Foundation in Malaga, the Museum of Fine Arts in Havana, the Cervantes Institute in New York, the National Museum of Art in Mexico and the Baas Museum of Art in Miami, among other points, have been exhibited. Mapfre Foundation is a living collection, created in 1997 and that grows year after year.

The exhibition will occupy the ground floor of the Maricel Museum, which in recent months has hosted the exhibition of the centenary of Maricel. The exhibition “Del Modernisme a les Avantguardes. Drawings of the col·lecció of the Fundació Mapfre” is organized by the Mapfre Foundation and Sitges Museums.
