Fine Arts & Flowers in Richmond, Virginia, from October 24 to 28
The Virginia Museum of Fine Arts (VMFA) in Richmond will hold the exhibition Fine Arts & Flowers from October 24th to 28th, 2018.
The biennial museum-wide exhibition features more than 80 original flower arrangements with works from the museum’s permanent collection. Lectures and other special events will accompany the exhibition.
According to the VMFA its collection includes the finest collection of Art Nouveau outside of Paris, something that we couldn’t check yet, as we are based in Europe and have not travel to The Americas to discover its Art Nouveau hidden gems. Maybe we should include this city in the new edition of The 11 most beautiful Art Nouveau Cities in America published recently.
Also according to the VMFA, the VMFA also holds the largest public collection of Fabergé outside of Russia and one of the nation’s finest collections of American art.
The Council of the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts is a group of dedicated VMFA members who volunteer throughout the museum and work on behalf of VMFA to enhance community outreach and participation.
VMFA opened in 1936, is a state agency and privately endowed educational institution. Its purpose is to collect, preserve, exhibit, and interpret art, and to encourage the study of the arts.
