The walking and public transport tour will begin with the Beethovenfries of Gustav Klimt in the Viena Secession Building and will end on the old grounds of the Belvedere Palace.
The itinerary and our narrative will focus on the majestic public buildings and private mansions built in that period on the Ringstrasse and also the Jewish community in Vienna 1900.
We will also see the exterior of the Wagner train station and of the two houses of Wagner in Naschmarkt.
Next stop will be the fantastic work of Otto Wagner, the Postsparkasse, now a Savings Bank. If we arrive before 5pm on a weekday we will also see the interior of it.
Your journey will continue to the Museum of Applied Arts (MAK) and the Belvedere Palace, where you will admire works from Klimt and Schiele amongst others.
Our idea to make this Vienna city tour informative but also amusing and sweet by mixing the architectural and historical view with the coffee shops side of the city. During the tour you will discover some art nouveau cafés. They are nice venues with cool decorations that will transport you to the times when they were the centres of intellectual life. Your personal guide will explain you the role of coffee shops during the art nouveau era. If you want, you could have a coffee and cake in one of them.
Visits to other museums in Vienna are optional and consequently upon arrangement.
This private tour is focused on the highlights of the Art Nouveau facades and cafés of Vienna.
