Itinerary

We present a 3-hour private tour of the Orsay Museum and surrounding landmarks to explore the vibrant Paris of the 1900 Universal Exhibition in a personalized and engaging way.

Your tour begins with a visit to the Orsay Museum, housed in the beautifully preserved former Orsay railway station, originally constructed for the Universal Exhibition of 1900. Accompanied by your private guide, you’ll discover the stunning Art Nouveau collection and other significant works, including:

  • The birth of Hector Guimard’s style through his early architectural drawings, decorative art pieces, and iconic furniture
  • Masterful furniture by Majorelle and delicate glass creations by Émile Gallé
  • The vibrant world of the Belle Époque as depicted in the works of Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec and other Parisian artists
  • Art Nouveau’s international influence, with furniture from Victor Horta and Van de Velde (Belgium), Antoni Gaudí (Catalonia), and Bugatti (Italy)

After the museum visit, enjoy a short walk to the Pont Alexandre III, a Belle Époque masterpiece and a marvel of 19th-century engineering. Adorned with exuberant Art Nouveau lamps, cherubs, nymphs, and winged horses, the bridge was inaugurated during the 1900 Universal Exhibition and has been a French Monument Historique since 1975. Nearby, admire the stunning exteriors of the Grand Palais and Petit Palais, both constructed for the same exhibition and listed as historic monuments.

The tour concludes at a charming café with art nouveau views, where you can relax with a drink amidst its tranquil enclosed garden. This enchanting space, surrounded by colonnades, mosaic pools, and exotic plants, perfectly captures the elegance of 1900s Paris.

Let the spirit of La Belle Époque inspire you as you explore Paris in the company of your private guide, a passionate expert in Art Nouveau, who will offer insights into the movement’s artists, works, and enduring legacy, ensuring a truly enriching experience.
